Ismark Kolyanavich

The Lesser

The son of Burgomaster Kolyan Indirovich and brother to Ireena Kolyana stands as a cornerstone to those who decided to stay in the village-of-barovia. He has been leading the resistance against Strahd Von Zarovich’s siege of the city. Named after his great grandfather Ismark the Greater, he has large boots to fill.

Appearance

Ismark is a hansom young man who has suffered the weight of unobtainable expectations. His smile does little to hide the concern and guilt. His once noble attire is torn and dirty with blood and grime. However, a glimmer of hope keeps his eyes aflame and his head held high.

Childhood

Ismark grew up in the Village of Barovia and has spent most of his life there. Even in times of peace the roads connecting the cities are dangerous so he never ventured far from the city limits. Ismark spent most of his youth running around the village and surrounding farmland with his sister Ireena.

Adult Life

Ismark has spent most of his adult life trying to prove his worth to the two most important men in his life. His father is the current Burgomaster and his great grandfather Ismark the Greater. His father has been in charge of Barovia for a good part of the century of peace. His father is well liked, strong, and charismatic. Now that Strahd has risen Ismark is trying follow in his fathers footsteps in a time of trouble.

Ismark the Greater is a legendary hero of Barovia who defended the town from monsters and vampires that lead to the century of peace. He is revered amongst every Barovian and held as the one of the greatest Burgomasters of all time. Ismark, inheriting this noble name, has always felt like he needs to live up to his namesake.

Ismark holds himself responsible for Doru for they were close friends and Ismark did little to stop him, hoping that he would succeed in his outrageous plan. However, not that Doru is gone and Strahd has awoken he wishes he had the courage to try and stop is friends suicidal mission.
